Ariana says Thank You
So…it seems Ariana’s feeling better about life and written a really pretty song to show it.
Of course, because we’re learning it at school, we won’t be singing exactly what she sings 😉
thank u, next
Thought I’d end up with Sean
But he wasn’t a match
Wrote some songs about Ricky
Now I listen and laugh
Even almost got married
And for Pete, I’m so thankful
Wish I could say, “Thank you” to Malcolm
‘Cause he was an angel.

Even almost got married
And for Pete, I’m so thankful
Wish I could say, “Thank you” to Malcolm

One taught me love
One taught me patience
And one taught me pain
Now, I’m so amazing
I’ve loved and I’ve lost
But that’s not what I see
So, look what I got
Look what you taught me
And for that, I say
One taught me patience
And one taught me pain
Now, I’m so amazing
I’ve loved and I’ve lost
But that’s not what I see
So, look what I got
Look what you taught me
And for that, I say

One day I’ll walk down the aisle
Holding hands with my mama
I’ll be thanking my dad
‘Cause she grew from the drama
Only wanna do it once, real bad
Gon’ make that stuff last
God forbid something happens
Least this song is a smash (song is a smash)
Holding hands with my mama
I’ll be thanking my dad
‘Cause she grew from the drama
Only wanna do it once, real bad
Gon’ make that stuff last
God forbid something happens

UkuTabs!
Now, for the kids who fancy playing that on the Ukelele, here’s an excellent web-site for us.
https://ukutabs.com/a/ariana-grande/thank-u-next/?transpose=0#point
Our biggest problem is that when Ariana recorded the song, she played it in a really difficult key.
It’s in D flat, which means some tough chords on the ukelele!
The site above let’s you change that and learn how to play it with easier finger positions
(you can’t then play along with the video, but it will be much more fun to do until you get better at ukelele).
So…when you look at the page on Ukutabs.com, look for ‘transposer’ and the line of numbers next to it.
Then click on -1. That will change the chords and give you much easier ones. You might even know some of them already!
