Hello Spring

Hello Spring

Hello Spring

Kylie van Dam

Goodbye winter,

It’s time for you to go.

The world has rested up.

Now it’s time to grow.

Hello Spring time,

Your days so bright and long.

You make us want to run outside

And join your busy song…

‘Cause in the spring,

There’s sweetness in the air,

Everything is green,

With flowers everywhere.

In the spring,

The babies run and play,

Leaves and wings unfurl,

Blossom floats away.

Baa baa, cheep cheep.

Rebbit rebbit, tweet tweet,

Zing

In the spring.

Flutter flutter, creep creep,

Scurry scurry, peep peep,

Achoo,

In the spring.

Goodbye winter,

It’s time for you to go.

The world has rested up.

Now it’s time to grow.

Hello Spring time,

Your days so bright and long.

You make us want to run outside

And join your busy song…

Baa baa, cheep cheep.

Rebbit rebbit, tweet tweet,

Zing

In the spring.

Flutter flutter, creep creep,

Scurry scurry, peep peep,

Achoo,

In the spring.

Unfurl?

Here are some leaves and wings unfurling.

They’re unrolling, unpacking and opening out.

That’s what unfurl means!

In this little video an earwig unfurls his soft paper-like wings.

They’re kept under his front hard wings and are ten times bigger when unfurled than packed away.

He doesn’t even need them for flying!!

Here’s a caterpillar turning into a moth. Watch as his wings unfurl at the end.

They unpack out of themselves.

This ladybird unfurls then repacks it’s wings!

How clever is that!!

Awwww…baby animals having fun in the spring!

And now for some mummy cows soooooo happy to be outside in the fresh spring air and eating real grass.

No more winter barn!

(Well…until next winter…)

Blossom floats in the wind.

It looks like snow.

But no-ones cold!

What does and English-language frog say?

Rebbit!

Rebbit!

Here are some scurrying mice.

Watch the white one on the right.

He loves a good scurry!

And now for some beautifully fluttering butterfly wings.

What sound do they make?

And a creeping caterpillar.
